I just got me a Sapphire x800pro toxic vivo and i wanna unlock the pipes

ok so this is prolly gonna sound stupid
but i dont have a floppy drive and i know there is a way to make bootable cds
every site i have gone to has just thoroughly confused me

if anyone could simplify making a bootable cd i would be greatful

oh and i can get my card up to 505core and 560memory before ati tool finds an artifact
and i ran 3dmark03 at 500/550 and there was no pixelization or tearing
will it be flashable to xt speeds just long enough to unlock pipes and flash back??

DRDOS bootable cd....if you don't find something I can tell you how/where I did it when I get home, just PM me, hell, I can send you the actual .ISO file to MAKE the cd I used...worked GREAT :D

ok i flashed with the gigabyt xtpe bios and windows says its a x800 xtpe but its still only got the 12 pipes?!?!?

woohoo
ok guys nm
after flashing back to my original bios ati tool now show 16 pipes

anyways i love this site and its forum
and thanks guys for all the help it is greatly appreciated

So Glueman, give us some numbers. What speeds is your card capable of and some benchies would be appreciated.

3Dmark03
12p 475/450 - 9823
12p 500/550 - 10,655

I'll chime in on this...this is with full on 16 pipes @520/560..and the A64 is really a powerful cpu to push these X800's along.... :p

i was up to 560 mem and when i got to 509 core the screen turned into like when an old nintendo game used to screw up
wierd colors everywhere ;[[

Were running similiar comp specs. I get my X800pro~XT PE to 540/570. And I am running AMD. We get very similiar scores too. 3dmark2003 12,589 3dmark2005 5978. Happy Gaming

yes ,let's say something goes wrong ,or just we change our mind and want to
have our old card ,EXACTLY as it was (not flashed with a generic x800 pro bios or with 16 pipelines) , is there a way to return the card 100% as it was when it came out of the box ?

There is a good thread over at rage3d.net that tells you how to go back to the original setup...it can be done, but appears to e difficult.

I tested very intensely at the XT-PE speeds before I flashed....I wanted to be as sure as possible that the overclocked core and ram speeds would be good to go...

The extra 4 pipes ran perfect after the flash. There is always an element of risk. If you can't afford to lose the card, don't flash.

You use the gigabyte flash utility to flash back to the regular bios that you backed up (hopefully :p)

am i able to volt mod it without taking that massive heatsink off?
or is the resistor not hidden by it?

and do you think a volt mod will help my oc?
