Touching LCD Screen with Microfiber Cloth While On

As the title says, would it damage the monitor if i gently touch the LCD screen with a microfiber cloth while its on? I was cleaning dust from it and forgot to turn it off and notice a slight depression of color with the cloth was brushing the color, but it disappeared as soon as i removed the cloth.

No damage. People touch LCD's with their fingers all the time; a microfiber cloth is certainly not as bad.

Any pressure will cause the "depression of color" you're talking about. Won't do any permanent damage as long as it's gentle. Doesn't matter if the screen is on or off if you're just dusting it. Main thing is to use microfiber cloth (as you do), never use kitchen towel etc. If any fluid is needed only use one that is specifically for LCD screens. I use one called CleanSafe (http://www.cleansafe.co.uk). Can recommend it.
