dats all folks.

Sweet, thank you.

Just thought of another good one to ask. Im going to upgrade my primary box, and ill have enough spare stuff to make a dedicated folding box. I know you can run multiple clients on one box, so my question is how many can I run? The box will be a 1200mhz w 256mb ram and a 40gb hd.

I think you're only supposed to run more than one client on the same box when you have multiple processors, dual cores, or hyperthreading. f

Ok and thank you. Now heres my final question, is there any way to set this up so it runs totally invisible? No windows no icons no nothing?

Welcome to the team!

be sure you have permission from the owner before you "run this thing on as many computers" as you can... Of course, the more power the better, but legit power... The last thing we want to do is give Stanford and/or the [H]orde a bad name...

[end standard disclaimer]

With that in mind... Borg everything you can!

Yes it can be invisible... just run the console client as a service

Keep on Folding!! For the [H]orde!!

Ya I know what you're thinking i'm ABOUT to do, but thats not what i'm goin for :) I'd like to throw a copy on my fiancee's laptop, but id like it to be totally unnoticed. She herself is a cancer survivor, so shes totally down. But anything she can she, she can break ;)

Glad to hear she's a survivor!

We always tell that to the new guys/gals coming in... We don't want anyone to lose their job/etc/etc/etc over it :D

Just follow this and you're golden

You can run up to 8 client on any one box.
But 8 are only usefull if .....
You are running a quad xenon or similar.
You know your going to loose the internet for a week.
You want to play musical workunits between boxen.

Luck............. :D

close the window and the only icon you should see should be a cog looking thing in ur task bar.

If it shut down incorrectly then without the -forceasm switch it will shut down the extra sse boost and run at half speed.
Check in the FAHlog.txt file and you shoud see a line "Extra SSE boost OK" if running a gromac.
Just restart it to turn the boost back on.

Luck......... :D

If you installed it as a service, just reboot and it'll load at boot in the background... no window....

In that case let it run 3 or 4 frames.
Some time the likes of EMIII mistake the save points inside a frame for an end of frame and hence give you a silly time.
What protien are you folding & on what (Ghz ?).
Most protiens fold at 1.6 - 2.4 Points per Hour per Ghz. Double that for big packets.
So knowing the points value of the protien and the Ghz you can work out the approx time it sould take.

Luck.......... :D
