Too many forums..

Was 2 years ago now. Time really fleis when we havin fun. If I remember correctly General Mayhem was causing a database overload. Was hoping with all the 'newness' we could get some kind of off-topic back.

edit: also unless the old threads will be merged back in, the post count should be reset. the motherboard section has 1600 threads, but when u click it, there's only like 3 threads.

I thought genmay here was just out of control and too much work to moderate. Hopefully kyle will see this thread and enlighten us. I wouldn't mind having a little offtopic forum here, but certainly not as the main forum(maybe at the bottom rather than the very top). I understand if he doesn't want anything to do with that, though.

All of the old threads are there. You have to change you settings so that is show all threads, not jsut the new ones.

i feel like i need to scroll half a mile down on the main page just to get to all the forums. is there a way to reduce the "space" between each forum or maybe cut down on some of the options?

check your settings, you probably have it set up to only view posts from the last week or something like that.

for me, there are 20 on the first page, and it has links to 82 more pages of threads, so I think they're all there

i gotta diff prob now. at the bottom of the page i clicked from the "Beginning" so that all threads can be shown. when i navigate from the page and come back the default of "Last Day" is back. is there anyway to make "beginning" the default?

you probably need to change it, then close the window, then delete your cookies for hardforum (or something like that )

IIRC, Genmay was deep-sixed because it got to be out of control, and got us way away from what Kyle wanted the forums to be. I believe his original reason was something along the lines of he wanted to get things back on track of being tech oriented. It got to be that most of the problems we experienced came from genmay. That and you had people registering just for genmay and they brought nothing to the table except for shenanigans(for lack of a better word, yet none is more fitting).

gonna take some time getting used to fs/t being at the bottom and games being kind of in the middle with a new name to it.
