I want a new mobo a processor.. When I bought my Asus A7A133 w/ my AMD 1.2Ghz there really wasn't a whole lot to choose from.. Now, I don't know where to start.. I guess this is why I should really keep up with hardware.. There's just soooo much.. Basically, I've figured out what I want to get out of the machine and what I have to spend.. I want to be able to play Doom3, 1GB of RAM and only spend about $350..

This is the only combo I could manage without killing myself.. Would I be putting myself in a position to not be able to upgrade easily in the future if I buy this machine?

or you could go with an amd athlon xp 2500 and mobo and o/c it to 3200 or higher. that should be able to play doom 3 decently. then you should have plenty left over for ram.
