Is it just me or is Nvidia and ATI saturating the market with so many cards now that it is almost impossible to tell which one is for which segment and being able to differentiate performance without doing a weeks worth of research? Can we go back to the good old days oh 3 cards? You know high end, mainstream, and budget?
Now we have extreme high end, high high end, mid high end, budget high end, extreme mainstream, mainstream, budget mainstream, mid budget, budget and low budget segments.
Nvidia has the 6800 Ultra, 6800 GT, 6800 GTO, 6800, 6600 GT, 6600, 6200
ATI has the X800 Pro, X800 XT, X800 XT PE, X700 Pro, X600, X300
I can see diversifying their products to cover more market segments but I felt that three market segments where enough now we seem to be up to 7. There is such as thing as too much choice.
