Hi

I sell computers, most of my builds are centered around the Silverstone SG05B cases for SFF or the Cooler Master 690 for normal tower builds. Thing is I select the parts according to customer needs, but most of the time on "high-end" builds it's overkill, and I have to ship many parts from US and gets expensive quickly.

I'm looking for a nice decent airflow case for medium size builds (matx boards), most of the time I select one case because it makes it easy for me to predict how much is the whole build going to cost.

I was looking into the sugo SG03/SG04, may consider them too, but I find them too expensive, TJ08 seems a fine compromise for micro atx tower style builds.

Can you recommend a good heatsink for 90-130W CPUs on this case?
 
I used to own this case, started with an evga 939 setup and eventually migrated to an Asus P5E-VM HDMI with a Q6600. The biggest concern I would have as a system builder with this case would be support, mainly concerning the power supply and aftermarket heatsinks. If you use anything larger than a stock cooler, the cooler or motherboard will have to be removed in order to remove the power supply. If that's not a concern, you can fit something as large as a TRUE in there.

Other than that one concern, it was a great little, well venitlated case.
 
Thanks, yeah I don't really care for support, I'm very used to dissassembling PCs and such.

I read It has some problems with DVD-RW clearance on long PSUs and same with very wide CPU coolers blocking HDD bays. Any insight on that?
 
It was a snug fit for my components. I used a corsair hx620 throughout the life of the case, which is a pretty short power supply considering it's features. I could see issues with a longer one.

The case has room for mounting two hard drives, one inside the 3.5" cage and one upside down below it. The upside down one can be easily accessed as the drive does not need to be moved horizontally at all to mount it there. With a big heatsink like my TRUE or Big Typhoon, I had to remove the heatsink to remove the upper drive. If you're building a system with only one hard drive, just use the bottom mount and it'll be no problem.

My latest build was tested thoroughly before delivery (as always)

Case: Silverstone TJ08
PSU: Corsair TX650 (bad choice, was a nightmare to hide all the unused cables)
GPU: XFX ATI HD 5770
CPU: Intel Core i3 530
RAM: Corsair XMS3 1333Mhz
HDD: WD10EARS
ODD: Samsung DVD/RW combo
Others: Cooler Master Hyper 212 plus in a pull only configuration due clearance issues with the HDD conectors

I tested temps and load with OCCT for the CPU, Furmark for the GPU, Speedstep and C1e were enabled and the Balanced Power profile was selected. Load temperatures are the maximum registered.

Vcore is set at 1.2v

Idle 64W/23c
Load CPU (OCCT) 108W/48c CPU
Load CPU+GPU (OCCT + Furmark@ 192x1080) 204W 52c CPU, 82c GPU
Load GPU 182w, 38c CPU, 90c GPU

All the readings were taken with a kill-a-watt. Only active peripheals were a Logitech diNovo Edge and a pair of headphones.

Could have gone with a 400w PSU easily but I alwas sell with quality PSUs and only the TX650 and TX750 were available at the moment of purchase locally.

I would point out that if you don't care as much about the aesthetics (Aluminum front panel) you can save ~ $60 if you buy the Coolermaster Elite 340 which is identical internally, but plasticish front panel.

I also have one with an H50 and the rest of my sig...

I've been thinking of going back to a bigger ATX style tower though.

This is an older picture, I got a 2 x 2.5" in 3.5" bay for the SSD's and added the 5870 later

 
Yeah I read that about the CM340 but I really like the look of the TJ08 and it's not THAT expensive for a nice MATX case. HDD space is the only big issue with it
 
FYI the Cooler Master Elite 340 is available for cheap at Cooler Master's site as a refurb. $21, and free ground shipping (through 5/8?) if purchasing over $50 using code "cinco de mayo."

Another budget option using the exact chassis and yet another plastic front is the Athenatech B301.

I actually prefer the Cooler Master Elite 341 over the 340.

The front intake fan is just too loud in full speed and I dont think MB can control this fan. Will definately replace it with a quieter 800 or 1200RPM fan from Scythe.
