tiny pauses between songs

When I try to listen to pink floyd's The Wall or Dark Side of the Moon (ripped with eac and lame standard vbr), there are tiny pauses in between the tracks when played in itunes or on my ipod. is there any way to remove these pauses? they may be tiny but these albums are continuous music, one track going right into another, and the pause is distracting.

is my only option ripping the whole cd as one big track?
 
I've ripped The Wall disk 1 to one big song and there are no pauses inbetween songs. It sure is a big file though. Pink Floyd rocks
 
Try playing back with another piece of software. Foobar2000 is a good choice. You could also try reripping it. Exact Audio Copy is another good choice.
 
To remove the gaps you would have to get an mp3 player that supports gapless playback. On the hardware side the only ones that do right now are the Rio players. For a software player you can get gapless through Foobar2000.
 
hmm, i tried setting up foobar (followed guide on ubernet.org), and found i really didn't like it much. didn't give it much of a chance, though. is it really that great? i'm a definite fan of itunes layout, i also like the winamp layout. but as i have an ipod, i use itunes (ml_pod, ipod plugin for winamp, caused me all kinds of problems).
 
The ipod does not have any gapless or crossfade playback. Itunes you can set up crossfade....
