You know what would be interesting and cool would be if the websites we rely on when a new card comes out for basic benches would be to provide the timedemo files they used to build their numbers.
We can do all of the same benches ourselves using Vantage, 3dmark06, and some games that have built in benchmarks but for the games like COD MW one and two it would be nice if the sites supplied downloadable timedemo files so that we could see how our systems compare.
Right now I'm sitting at a 4870 X2 @ 2650x1600. I play CS:S and COD MW1/2. I plan on getting another 4870 X2 of of ebay because it scales reasonably well with these two games. I would absolutely love to bench a 4 way 4870 using CCC 9.12 against a 5870 CF or a 5970.
It would also be nice for these webites to revisit old cards with new drivers. I know some of you want to say to ditch the 4870 X2 for a 5870 but realistically that would be a downgrade. At my resolution or 1900x1200 for that matter the x2 still performs a tad better. The only upgrade at this point would be 5970... but at 700$ what kind of upgrade would that be? My 4870X2 cost me 145$ after selling my 9800GT on ebay for 100$. Adding another X2 for 250$ seems like a pretty reasonable thing to do.
