is my video card defected? i tried the directx direct3d test,i could see the 3d image when it ran direct8 and 9 but when it tried direct 7 , my image is really messed up.. same happens when i play games like prince of persia. on other games like nbalive2004 or call of duty, my monitor will just shut off making me reboot my computer.. games like starcraft i am able to play.. anyone know the problem? should i drump this and get 9800 pro?

btw i reformmated twice and have the newest drivers, reformatted after getting these errors.. still having them
 
Tried DirectX 7? How did you "Try" directx 7?

I am not trying to be rude, but I don't understand.
 
if you run dxdiag and you click on test direct 3d, it tests it in 7,8 and 9 and asks if you can see the box. ill give you what it says

Direct3D 7 test results: Failure at step 32 (User verification of Direct3D rendering): HRESULT = 0x00000000 (error code)
Direct3D 8 test results: All tests were successful.

If possible, try the video card in another computer and see if the problem persists.
