Hey, I've been a member of Hardforums for some time now, but I havent been very active in the past 6 months or so, and because of this I don't know as much as I used to. My sisters heading to school so Im going to fix this current pc up for her. Specs below. I'm only keeping my video card and sound card, and I'm going to hook her up with an old geforce 2 layin around and a sound blaster. I may also transfer this system into an older box and use this case because I'm a big fan of it. I've always been an AMD guy, every pc I owned except for my 133 has been an amd, so I will stick with amd on this one!
These are the specs so far for me..
NEC 8X Black DVD+/-RW Drive, Model ND-2500A/GW, OEM Bulk
Seagate 80GB 7200RPM IDE Hard Drive, Model ST380011A, OEM
Crucial 184 Pin 512MB DDR PC-3200 8T - OEM
SOLTEK SL-KT600-C1L, VIA KT600 Chipset, AMD Socket 462 Motherboard - RETAIL
AMD Athlon 64 3000+, 512KB L2 Cache 64-bit Processor - Retail
Thats what I have so far. I will be using the radeon and my santa cruz for sound. I really hope this system is up to par with doom 3 and half life 2. I also do a lot of video editing, and a good firewire card will be needed, and adobe premiere running fast is needed. Thanks for any input, and l've been trying to read all the review sites and re-familiarize myself, but it's difficult.
