Thoughts on the NEC LCD2170NX v. 2070NX? How much difference?

I really like the size of the 2170 but it appears from what I found that it has an S-PFA and the 2070 has an IPS. How much difference will I notice?

Well, considering they use the same 1600x1200 resolution I'd definitely go for 2070NX. You're getting only larger dot pitch / pixel size with 2170NX basically, and 2070NX is better monitor and it uses nice S-IPS panel. IMHO it's really no brainer. Just take 2070NX, it's great display, and its size is very nice, you won't notice much difference between those to displays (in terms of size), but you WIILL notice difference in terms of better image quality, better viewing angles, color quality etc.
