Hi all, I have a few questions and I'd also like your opinions on the machine i'll be building.

CURRENT system:

AMD Athlon XP 2000+ @1.83 (166x11)
1 Gig PC2700 Patriot Memory (2x512)
BFG 6800GT OC @ ultra speeds
Epox 8rda3i Mobo NF2 Ultra

PENDING SYSTEM

AMD Athlon 64 3000 (90nm)
MSI Neo2 Platinum
ThermalRight XP-90
1 gig of pc3200 memory

My questions:

1. Will the xp90 fit on the msi neo2 plat?
2. What would be the best memory i can get for around $150-200?
3. I plan on buying from monarchcomputer.com, are they reliable?

I won't be able to buy the ram just yet, I'll have to wait a few weeks.
4. so, will the pc2700 be sufficient enough to hang with the processor?

That's about it, any thoughts or input is greatly appreciated.

I have that ram. It is good but there are better sticks to get for your money. That ram doesnt Overclock. Well atleast mine wouldnt go past 212FSB. Someone else here may be able to direct you in the right place. Possibly Patriot Memory?

As for using your current ram. Yes you can use it in your new system. But I would strongly advise to upgrade asap because it will be a bottleneck.

I plan on buying my next computer parts from MonarchComputer.com I have heard they are a good company to buy from and have great RMA practices.

Edit: About the Xp-90:
AMD socket 754/939/940 platform

"XP-90 is designed to fit all AMD socket 754/939/940 motherboards (*Gigabyte K8 motherboards see below). So far, we have not found any board that is not compatible with XP-90. If you've found any, we would appreciate if you could report them to here".

I used to own that ram. It was great for my P4 system, but did not OC at all on my AMD64. I'd recommend either OCZ Platinum Rev 2.0 or Crucial Ballistix.

Anandtech.com recently did a great review on what ram works well on AMD64's (64's are picky on ram)

Hope this helps.

i currently have patriot memory, perhaps i'll try overclocking it before I'm able to buy the replacement ram.
