For all those that have the 2005FPW, I was just wondering what video card you had. Just picked up the moniotr a couple of days ago and want a better video card. So just looking for some advice fromthe 2005 owners as for one that supports the native resolution of the screen and is WSXGA and non-PCIE.

Thanks Vit

What is your budget? Pretty much any video card from the last few years will suport it fine. If you don't game then something like a 9600 will be fine. If you do game then I would have thought you'd want at least a 9800pro or similar to get decent fps @ 1680x1050. If you don't have a budget why not buy an agp X800XTPE.

6800 GT right here. I had a 9700 pro but it wouldnt run HL2 or Farcry at native res.

$400 later - Im VERY pleased. :D

Do you mean it had problems at running in 1600x1000 ( can't think of exact #) or was the card not strong enough? I have a 9800se that performs at 9700pro speeds about so I'm just wondering since I'm gonna order myself a screen next time theres a good discount.

Have any of you guys tried using the 2005FPW in portrait mode with the screen pivoted?

Just wondering whether most low-to-moderately priced video cards support that or whether I'd have to pay more to get that capability.

That's done through the control panel for your card, for example it's called nvrotate for nvidia cards. I'm sure most cards can do it, even on a monitor that can't pivot. See if you have the options right now with your current monitor.

The Card itself really wasnt high powered enough to run HL2 and other graphic intensive game at 1680xwhatever (Not too familiar with WS resolutions). If you turn your res down a notch or two you should have a very playable game.

Those video cards are nice. But how about in a budget of between $100 and $200? Those cards picked so far are about $250 and higher. Any suggestions now? I should have specified budget before, sorry.

I have an ATI X800-Pro. It and the 2005FPW are components in my gaming machine. Thus far, i have just set all my games to max effects, etc and have been living the dream. No issues what so ever.

Geforce 4 Ti4200 here... runs the monitor at native, even on DVI. Looks great too. Wouldn't play HL2 or Doom3 in native, though. Not until I update the rig :p
