I'm trying to figure out WTF happened here.

It's a new Lian Li B70 that just arrived via UPS. Wait! Read on before saying, "Well, there's your problem." The box is fine, and the foam only slightly broken. I haven't found any problems on the case's exterior, not even a scratch. But opening the case revealed this:

What's with the banana bays?
 
Well, the good news is that it's aluminum and easily bendable back into its original form. I'd still return it though.
 
Most likely top-to-bottom compression. Surprised the box didn't suffer any abuse.
 
Looks like Lian Li is outsourcing production to the Caribbean. Bananas are a cash crop so they figured they would add that Caribbean feel! :D
 
it actually looks like they missed the HDD support lol. hence why its bowing.... RMA for sure.

That was my initial guess, but I can't find any other signs of trauma. The chassis seems totally fine. Weird. Maybe LL's assembler goofed and figured he could get away with installing a bent rack.

Anyhow, I'm going to try bending it back. The delay & expense of RMA stink, plus there's always a chance of damage on the new shipment.
 
I've saw other B70s arrive the same way on other forums, so I stayed away from taking delivery of one of these cases.
 
^^ I got a B70 Case.. and it arrived in perfect condition..

although I did once get a B10 case with the same issue the Original poster has...
@ the original poster, by any chance did the box of accessories was tied to the HD cage?
 
The B70 is a great case and I didn't say that this is a wide spread problem. I saw others the same way so I decided not to buy one myself. Of course a high percentage of the cases will arrive in perfect condition. Your B10 had the same issue and I also think it has something to do with the accessories box being attached to the HDD cage.
 
The bays straightened out quite well. It's not perfect but plenty close enough.

We have a winner! That box was loose inside the case with a torn area where it had been zip tied to the rack. The case was boxed front panel up, so a simple drop was the cause.

Thanks, Aztlan. Would have taken me a while to figure that one out.

And listen up, LL! Use 2 ties to better structure!
 
Ask Lian Li about it. Their reply form is a bit weird and it may not seem like your message gets sent, but it does and they reply back fast.
 
heh, that's pretty cool looking, actually. Definitely RMA it though - not supposed to be like that. I've never owned a Lian Li but they're supposed to have really good support, so it shouldn't be much of a problem.
