i bought a shuttle ak38n and would get power to it so all the fans worked, but after i sent it in to get it checked to see why it wasn't booting. i am not sure if any of the drives were goin tough. i did not know at the time a 1.2 thunderbird would not work with it. now i have an amd 2800 xp 333, 256 ultra (from tiger direct) pc2700, 120gb WD hard drive, sony 52x cd-rom drive, and a 400w compusa psu that is 2.1(?) compliant. now i only get the dimm light to come on to say that is getting power, but the fans are not coming on. any suggestions?

As stated in the countless threads identical to this one, this is the one problem no one in an online forum can solve. You need to do the normal troubleshooting options. Check connections, reset components, strip out everything but the bare minimum, build the PC on static bags out of the case, etc. And finally swap out parts until you find the problem.
