Thinking about getting a new LCD

i talked to a friend and he advised me not to get an LCD for gaming. he said that i would need to get a new one wihtin 7 months...

is there any truth to this?

also can you reccomend a nice gaming LCD for around 400$?

Technology is always improving and therefore there will always be something better coming out in 7 months that will be better than what you have now.

For a LCD monitor now I would recommend the Hyundai L90D. It can be had for less than $400

I ordered the Dell 2005FPW 20.1" widescreen LCD. With coupons you can get it for around $400. I can't wait to try my games in widescreen.

what he meant was that after 7 months of gaming, the monitor would be close to if not fully worn out.
 
Make sure you get the L90D+, the L90D is the 25 ms version. The D+ is the 8 ms screen, and great for gaming.

And unless you have the LCD sitting in bright sunlight I can't see how you "wear out" a screen.
 
he had advised me not to get an LCD for that reason and also to save money for one of the new 512mb gfx cards. ive got a 6800gt... that should last me a while, eh?
