Thermaltake SonicTower

Mine gets here on Thursday from EWIZ.com (39.99+s/h).

It is replacing my SI-97 that I have had for only just over a month.

Will have to borrow my cousins camera to take some pics for you all. :D

Would you have to lay down your mobo to use it? Obviously it screws into the board via mounting holes, I wonder if it would fit on my DFI Infinity. Arrgh, I just bought an SI-97 (remember my last thread you replied in Tiny).

I am building a custom case and the mobo will be laying flat, but I don't think that is a requirement for the Sonic Tower.

Yeah, I remember the thread. The SI-97 is good, but with my custom case, the cooling won't work with the SI-97 and I am going to see how this thing cools without a fan. When I get the Sonic Tower I will have to post pics so you and others can see if the mounting may/may not be a problem. Stinks that Thermaltake doesn't have a mobo listing like Thermalright.

How is the SI-97 working for you?

Someone needs to learn how to use the search function.
This is like the 3rd thread on this cooler in a week.

Anyway, I used the frst version, fanless103. Works great!

I wonder how ^ that ^ cooler compares to their SilentTower cooler which is what I use.

it cools my 2.8C @ 3.5Ghz quite nicely I might add. ;)

but, it sure would be sweet if I could get the same performance w/o using a fan at all.

Using a Pentium 4 3.06Ghz
Computer idles at 35C with the only 2 120mm case fans turned down to 1400rpms. On full load it can top out at 45C with the rear case fan turned back up to normal speeds.
