This $5.99 Thermaltake Ducting Mod lowered by CPU temps by 2 degrees centigrade under both load and idle. My friend installed it on his T-bred and got the same results.

I have an Alpha PAL8942 with a Sunon 80mm fan on my P4 1.6A @ 2.4Ghz. It didn't fit on my HSF exactly at first because the long Alpha fan screws go all the way into the base of the HSF and account for the 80mm fan. I didn't want to cut the screws in case I wanted to remove the ducting mod later. So, I took an old 80mm fan and used a dremel to cut the guts out of it. Then I mounted the ducting mod on the hollowed out fan using the long Alpha screws. Next, I mounted the Sunon 80mm fan on the ducting mod.

For only $5.99, I thought it did really well. Especially considering that in some HSF reviews the difference between some affordable HSFs and more expensive ones is about 2 degrees but the price difference can be much greater than $5.99.

i would try this out but IMHO it simply does not look good in the case
i like to have my computer case look nice and clean with no extra wires hanging around
but the ducting thingy would just look all messy and weird inside my computer

check out which way you have the fan pointed. i have done the same kind of mod and it took a couple of degrees off the cpu temp, decided to turn the unit so the fan was pointed at the rear of the case where the case fans mount and it dropped a couple of more. Instead of 48C it now runs at 43C, (AMD 1100 overclocked to 1495) with out all the other fans on and now runs where it was at 1150. :D :D

Might make yours drop some more also.:D :D
