Alright, I'm bringing a heartbeat back this thread...

I've decided to go with an 1155 mobo with the PCI-e 3.0 once they hit the market in full force and stick an IB on it.

Just wanting some advice as to which option to go with:

1. Keep my TRU-90 and get the 1156 Rev. B bolt-through kit (compatible with 1155, as many of you likely already know). Take off the 120mm fan and put a 92mm PWM on it*.

2. Ditch the TRU-90 and go with a
Xigmatek Loki.

*Would consider another 120mm hsf option, but I may eventually transition everything to a uATX tower.

Origin Post on 7-15-2011:
Anyone know if the Thermalright TRUE series with 1156 mounting will work with the new S2011?

I've only been able to find articles stating that it's similar to the S1366 dimensions, but intel is including a brace integrating the socket and the HS mounting holes on the S2011 design. Of course, I didn't do a hell of a lot of searching, so I figured I'd just hit up the [H]orde...
:D

A little more backstory:

I've currently got a TRUE90 on my 6400+ and want to reuse after IB comes out and warrants an upgrade.

1156 mounting is only compatible with 1155 mounting, not 1366 or 775. Most rumors state that 2011 mounting will be similar to 1366, but until one is actually released, there is no way to tell.

Sheesh, correction to thread title: "Ultima series"... good gravy.

Unless TR does indeed come out with a bracket for this next-gen socket that will work with my current HS, I suppose I'll just entertain the idea of something like a future model of the Xigmatech 92mm or 120mm when the S2011 drops.

Thanks everyone that has replied and offered help!

I read somewhere, can't recall where, that 2011 would have the same mounting holes as 1366 - and if not Thermalright'll certainly offer a new mounting bracket (for sale).

Edit: Here are some pictures - you can probably do some comparative measuring to see how it lines up with 1366 sockets.

Can't find a source either but have heard many times as well that 1366 mounting will work with 2011. I certainly hope it is true so I can just swap out my block and press on.
