boy do I feel shafted, I wanted to but an x800 XT PE and every review I could find said that they were the same thing or if it just said XT than it was PCI-E. Well feeling reassured I purchased a Visiontek Xtasy x800 XT, (not PE) from gameve.com. After seeing that gameve.com sold an x800 XT PE for over $100 more I began to wonder again if there was a difference. So I went to www.Visiontek.com to look it up and low and behold, their website had changed. They now listed in their products an x800 XT and x800 XT PE as seperate products, both AGP cards. Apparently it's just an underclocked x800 XT PE, I checked it out. it has 16 pipes but 20Hz less core and 60hz less memory. Man am I POed. I already ordered the XT 2 weeks ago when it was supposed to be delivered in 5-7 bus. days and it's not the card I wanted. When I get it I'll let you know what my max o/c's are to see if the headroom is the same as the PE cause if it's not I'm gunna be rippin'. Let me know your stock o/c's if you have a Visiontek x800 XT PE please thank you.
 
It seems as though their yields must be low on the PE's. B/c there are X800 Pro's everywhere, but very few XT's available. I think they are pushing the limits of the process with that size core.

When I get my NV50 with 32 pipelines, its going to own your PE :) j/k
 
yes several companies are now releasing both - Sapphire is one of them...It's just a trick imo, most people won't be able to tell...

I don't see how it is a trick when the product is labelled differently. I don't recall ATI ever saying the xt and xt-pe were the same thing.
