I'm feeling particularly ambitious for some reason, so I thought up a new modding project (because I havn't partaken of the sport much recently). Who knows how long it will take, but at least I'll have something to do.
Goal: Build a highly functional computer case that resembles a traditional electric stove.
Part List:
-Square metal case.
-Metal enclosure to act as top back part of oven. (This will house all the switches and hopefully some ports if they don't distract from the look too much. Will probably have to build this.)
-Two 80mm (smaller?) fan grills. Two 92mm fan grills. These will act as the oven's elements.
-Two 80mm, and two 92mm fans with red lights.
-Hinged door and handle for door.
-Temperature display.
-Variable switch for fan power (preferably something that looks like the switch for the fans on a stove).
-Four switches for red lights on fans.
-Switch for case light.
-Yellow case light.
-Window.
-Innards.
Notes:
I'm thinking the yeong-yang cube server case could be ideal for this project, but it's not cheap, and it's a littler bigger than I was thinking. It's hard to find a happy medium between big and small in the cube case department. Not sure where exactly to put all the actual hardware yet, but even if I don't do anything special with it the yeong-yang case's door should look suffieciently stealthy. Can't think of too much else on this so far, but thought it would be good to bounce the idea off some people with FAR more experience than me and see what they thought.
