...I finally straightened out my internet connection. It was all borked up for the longest time, ever since I moved last May.
Couldn't get into the DSL modem Verizon shipped me to change the default settings. Now that I've edited the subnet mask, disabled the DHCP server, and corrected the port forwarding on my Linksys Vonage router and PIX things are good.
That is all. Just finally rejoicing in velvety smooth internet goodness.
