Testing RAIDed drives

I Have a mirror arrary running on my main system in order to prevent data loss due to a hard drive failure. Everytime I reboot my machine I get a "Raid not accomplished, please rebuild" error. If i rebuild the array, it boots up fine, but every reboot it happens again.

(this is quit frustrating since i can forget every remotely rebooting this box)

Id like to test the Hard drives to make sure that both are acctually writting the same info. They are both 120GB IDE WD's.

If I turn off the machine and take out each drive, putting them one at a time as a slave in another PC I have, then booting that PC up and browsing the contents.... will this cause any sort of curruption in the array?

I have the data backed up onto a 200GB drive on my back up system, but id rather not lose the data off the original drives....
