Temps OK?

I have a P4 3.0C running at 3.45GHz on an Abit IC7-G mobo. Voltage is 1.575.

My non-load temp is ~40C but when running dual instances of Prime95 it goes up to ~60C. I'm using the stock Intel HSF but with arctic silver paste (thermal pad was removed). Are those temps ok? The system is perfectly stable.

Thanks,

What's the room temperature?

I have a 3.0C running at about 3.6 and under load it hits around 47. To be honest I'm not really sure what it's at idle.

Of course keep in mind that I'm in a basement that is kept fairly cool.

I've also heard that different motherboards report the temperature differently so when asking the question it might be good to mention what mobo you have.

Thanks James. Actually I did mention the mobo, it's an Abit IC7-G. Abit mobos are well known for reporting cpu temps too high. That's one of the reasons I'm asking the question here. My max temps may in fact only be ~50C assuming the mobo is reporting them 10 degrees too high. I have no way of verifying that though.

Ambient room temp is around 68-70F which, I believe, is around 20C.

lol I must be tired I completely missed the mention of what motherboard you had. Sorry about that.

Even if it is reporting iisn't high If I read intel's site correctly it's still at a safe operating temp.

Processor Spec Sheet

I'm not sure if that's what you are wondering but oh well..

I have a Zalman 7000 ALCU HSF using Arctic Silver 5. I'm not really sure how it affected my temps because I never used the Stock fan.
