Temp readings on A7N8X-E

Hey guys, just wondering if the readings on the motherboard were off and it was a known issue. I'm not talking 2-3 degrees Cel. But my temps absolutely refuse to idle at less than 55C no matter what HSF setup i'm using. I've tried a Volcano5 (pos, but just for kicks), a Volcano 7+ (which has always given me great results) and recently a zalman 7000B-CU. When I touch the heatsinks, they are a little warm but don't feel anywhere near 55-60C. I just bought a new mobile athlon 2500+ and was thinking of just going watercooling because i'm sick of the loud fans and the high temps. So my questions are, is the temp sensor off, and is it worth it to go watercooling, and if so, what should I get? I also have an Antec Sonata case. Thanks

i have that that board running a amd xp 2600+. idles at 35C and 40C load cpu with 25C case temp using a alpha 80xx something heatsink. been awhile but the heatsink costed me $50 back then. Not sure since i gave that pc to my sister. prob your onboard temp is off.

How do you read your temps? BIOS, nForce system utility? It's weird having a minimal temp this high... Maybe a sensor/software problem, tried ASUS' customer support, just in case?

I have an A7N8X-E too, driven by a XP-M 2600+ @ 2.5, which is cooled by a Thermalright SP-97/Panaflo 90mm high combo. Load temps in the summer are at 55-56 Celcius.

I was just monitoring them through the BIOS. I think the HSF was incorrectly seated though. I readjusted it again and I got them to drop quite a bit. Still high, but better (46-48C). I am now prime stable at 2.3Ghz at 1.7 volts though. Not a good overclock .I will do some more tinkering when I get back from work to try to raise that heh.
