so only serious replys on this but what will be in vid cards 2 years from now ...when longhorn will be out ??

also slightly ot but what about other tech, laptops are progressing amazingly thanks to intel (and im a amd fan boy ) hopefuly oleds will be in laptops by then??

new raptors/ raptor clones with more space ?? id hope
 
That's a mistake IMO. A lot of people who build computers just want cheap web surfing things. Making graphics cards that important will just make people shy away from PCs.

did u think before u posted?? its just like windows now u can turn off features, its obviously talking about if u want a more fluid 3d os then ull need a good card a 6800 now will be like onboard now if u look at 2 years from now so saying u need a 600 dollar card when u buy longhorn is ridicKulas
 
a lot can happen in 2 years

shader model 2.0 cards will be cheap and readily available, the standard, possibly (i can't forsee the future, but it seems logical)

the cards supporting SM 4.0 will have a unified pixel and vertex shader unit, this is one huge feature about SM 4.0 (Longhorns WGF) and it is that level of video card we may finally see real geometry being done on the video card, ala real time displacement mapping for example
