anyone have one of those Tatung LCDs they have advertised at best buy? How are they? Would they be decent for games...as far as LCDs go?
 
I'm 99% sure the 17" Tatung L17AMTN (is/was $329 after rebate) is a clone of the Viewsonic VA720.

The specs are the same, the OSDs are almost identical, the button layout is the same, the tilt hinge is on the base, and the cords plug directly in to the back (cords pointing straight out, rather than pointing down like most LCDs... not that it's a bad thing, it's just different... and it also makes it impossible to wall-mount it.)

As far as games go, it's response is 25ms... not very good if you're a hardcore gamer. 16ms would be better for games and video. But, for the price, it's hard to beat.
 
I bought one of these at best buy last week. I mainly use it for text, internet, dvd's. I don't do much gaming so I wasn't overly concerned with the 25ms. Imo it's a great deal.
