Tablets without headphone slots?

Thinking of buying a Samsung Galaxy Tab 6 but it doesn't have a headphone jack. That is a bummer bc I have a pair of Bose noise cancelling headphones. When and why did companies stop offering headphone jacks? I love those headphones and it would suck to have to buy a new pair just because. Grumble grumble...
 
a couple years ago when apple said you dont need one, samsung copied. there is probably a usb to headphone adapter for it.

If possible it could be a good excuse to get a nice usb headphone dac-amp for them, that could work for most of your device.
