I was attempting to overclock my sig system and now i cant get back into BIOS. It wont boot into OS or go behond the BIOS load screen. I still get the single short beep from POST and have rebooted several times and reset the CMOS three times but with no progress. Doesnt that mean it has to be the BIOS chip? Please help as i am new to OCing and this is my first self-build system.

May be a silly question but I just looked at the manual for that mobo and it sounds kind of like mine in the clearing the CMOS procedure.

Are you following that procedure exactly? Reason I ask is I don't follow that procedure to clear my CMOS. What I do is just move the jumper to the clear position, power on go to BIOS and reload defaults, then power off, move jumper back. I never take the battery out at all. Granted I have a DFI Lanparty but the clear CMOS steps in my manual are about the same - and I've never done it that way.

Unplug the PSU from the mains before resetting the CMOS. Give it time to discharge as well.

You may try to remove the battery as well, I have had to do so before. If all else fails try it before you break out the hammer. :D

Heck yes hammer time! Try using on one stick of RAM along with the suggestions above, I've had problems with my memory controller not giving my memory enough voltage to the RAM when I have more then two slots filled and I had to boot with only one stick to set the voltages back to my memory specs.

sweet, i retried resetting the CMOS and this time let it sit for a few hours, and then rebooted and was able to reach BIOS and reset to defaults, havent had any problems since
i have been able to push just under 2.7 from my CPU instead of stock 2.4 but i have a liquide cooled system, so im not worried about overheating, is there anyway i can push this chip harder? perhaps the processor frequency multiplier? my manual doesnt really explane just what that does, but im in the process of reading up on it, maybe someone here has some ideas? thanks again for your help, guys.
