I need hlp please!

for some reason today when i turned on my system it wont boot. It was oced a bit but not to extreem (increase fsb from 166 to 180) and had been runing stable for many months.
hds fans and cd roms power up the hd lead lights up and stays solid but the system power led dose not light at all (weird)

no beebs and the boot lights for the n force are all solid and stay solid. the manual says that that means it is finalizing the boot.

Suggestions any one?
 
Clear the CMOS and then try it again. Sometimes when an OC goes wacky, this will help you out of it.
 
Yeah, check your motherboard for the clear CMOS jumper settings, and then reboot with that, then switch it back to normal.

Should clear up your problem, sometimes an OC can mess up after awhile ( esp. with summer approaching, warmer temps etc.)
 
I cleared the cmos AND removed the cmos batery no luck
my temps prior to the problmes were 34 c idle 42 c stressed

i guess ill take it to frys and have them test it there

any more suggestions will help
 
The last person I talked to in the tech dept. at the Houston Fry's sounded mildly retarded. I'm serious.

Did you clear the CMOS properly? As in change the pins, then move it back to its original location? If you left it in the new pin position, hitting the power button will cause it to shutdown after booting up for about a second. Follow all the instructions and remove power cable before clearing CMOS. Wait til the light on your mobo (if it has one) goes lights out or wait 10 seconds after pulling the plug before doing your CMOS. Hope this helps.
 
yes i moved the jumper to pin 2/3 waited a while and then moved it back to pin 1/2


but as for frys i know they re retarded but they have spare parts to test with i dont :D
 
well guys thnx for the help frys confirmed the mobo was key chain material.

on a bright note they exchanged it past its warrenty time :D
