Just to summarize, I've been posting about a system that fails to display properly. When I power on, the display comes up and is totaly scrambled. its just a jumble of colors and completely unintelligble. After trouble shooting my video card, an EVGA 6800GT AGP8x, I contacted EVGA and they told me to RMA the card which I did. I get a brand new card and the symptoms are still present. So this leads me to believe the motherboard is at fault and the tech support at ASUS recommend I flash the CMOS, which I did with no results. Another thing is that I cannot come up with a good explanation for why an older Geforce4 MX AGP 4x/2x works in the motherboard and the 6800GT does not if the AGP slot is bad shouldn't both cards fail? Someone suggested that it could be an issue with the the PSU. I know next to nothing about PSU's, but what I've got in system is a 420W PSU that came with the case. The system worked fine wiht the 6800GT for about a year up until recently, is it possible that the PSU is going bad, can they go bad? If the psu is the problem is there a possibilty that it caused damage to the 6800GT. Any help is appreciated.
