Synology question

hello there.

Now i finally got my synology up and running and it used all night to create 5 and now i have 5.44 TB of space.

But when i look in the manger thing its say:

99:99% free AWASOME

then i look another place called ( diskgroup ) and it say that i have used 99.99% of the space and have 0% free..

WTF? now i'm lost...

any one els seen this kinda problem?
 
ok found out.. Updateing softwere fixed it.

next question.. why wont it shere one of my folders? any one know some thing about setter standart sheres?

Setter Standart Sheres?

take the Synology back, take 4 2TB hard drives, a cheap dual core atlhlon, 2GB of ram, and download and install openfiler or freenas. It probably cost less than the Synolgy and is about a gazillion times easier and faster to use.

But I personally know nothing of the file system on Synology. But I have tried many out of the box nas devices and none are as fast and easy to setup as the hand built with opensource software.
 
Synology NASs are pretty damn good. They are bit more expensive then your typical whitebox ZFS box. What protocol does the Synolgy box use? I think it can do iSCIS and CIFS.
