All I can say is this monitor sucks. For 400+ dollars I got a monitor that has more ghosting than the freebie LCD that came with my dell. The brigtness is way too low on this monitor also. There is no way this monitor is 12 ms response time, I have never seen such bad ghosting in Doom 3. I have yet to try it with Half Life 2 yet. Also the construction of the pivot point and stand seem quite flimsy and a potential snap point. Also, the monitor seems to be a greater strain on my eyes than ever monitor I have had before.

BTW, I have installed the drivers (very confusing to find them, the monitor was lacking adequate instructions), and tried adjusting the monitor. The included MagicTube 2.5, is not even supported by the monitor! If anyone has any ideas on how to fix my ghosting problems please let me know. Thanks!

The 710T is one of the fastest LCD displays out there (http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/other/display/response-8_15.html) so if you find there to be too much ghosting either there is something wrong with the monitor or you are just too sensitive to it which means you wont be happy with any LCD. I had the same monitor and sold it. Not because of ghosting but because viewing angles. Notice how the top of the screen is darker than the bottom?

I actually haven't noticed that the top of the screen is darker, but I did notice that if you view the monitor from any angle but straight on, it doesn't look too great. I think I may have gotten a defective monitor... because I have read the same reviews you have about how fast this monitor is.

Just kind of disappointed on the viewing angles (you think for 400 dollars they could do better than like a 30 degree viewing area). Hopefully I will be able to get a replacement for this monitor.

Yeah, it could be a defective monitor. In most cases, it's response time should be even faster than the new Benq 8ms LCD so there shouldn't be huge amounts of ghosting you are describing. As for the viewing angles, unfortunetaly, all monitors that use a TN matrix have very poor vertical viewing angles. Seeing as majority of 17 inchers are TN, you're gonna have the same problem whatever monitor you choose. You could get the 173P which has no problems with viewing angles but then you'll have ghosting in games.

Lcds have ghosting what are you complaining about ?

If you want to pay more for a Lcd with ghosting, over a proven Crt with no ghosting be my guest but don't whine lol
