Hey all, I ran a p4 3.0GHz Northwood for the longest while with a mild over clock then jumped on a deal for a AMD x2 4400+. Now with the launch of the Phenom I'm bailing on AMD before the system value totally depreciates (The situation I'm in I can sell the full system and monitor without taking more then a $50-$100 cost out of pocket)

Intel Pentium Dual Core E2180
Nmedia MP-500 500W ATX Power Supply
Coolermaster CM 690 Mid Tower
Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3
Samsung SH-S203B SATA DVD+RW
Thermalright ULTRA-120 Extreme
Mushkin EM PC2-6400 2GB 2X1GB DDR2-800 CL5-5-5-18

Misc details:
I plan on purchasing the cheapest 8800GT I can find and shopping for a deal on a 22"+ LCD. I also have 3 new quiet 120mm fans for the case/heatsink. I also have an existing 500GB hdd I'll transfer over. With the results so far I plan on over clocking the crud out of the e2180 and trying to keep the system as quiet as possible (the case gives me pre drilled holes for water piping and its cheap). I'll also lap the processor once the system is stable.

Questions:
-I'm worried about the RAM timings, any comments where the FSB on the processor probbly won't be at 800?

-The Ultra-120 + large quiet 120mm fan fine for overclocking?

-Gigabyte board overclock ok? ip35-e didn't have all solid state caps which makes me lean towards the DS3, and as a bonus its $20 cheaper.

Bah I sold my desktop quicker then expected and pulled the trigger. swapped out the Mushkin EM for HP (ended up ~10 difference)

I have the abit ip35-e and it seems to overclock pretty well, and i also have the ultra-120....its pretty nice as well.
