I currently have raid 1 set up on my ICH9R intel controller, and am moving to X79 which also supports raid 1.
How should I go about moving over to this? Can I just plug in the two drives, set up the array in the bios if I can, install the intel drivers, and manage the array through there again?
I currently have windows installed on a velociraptor, but will be installing to an SSD in my new build... so the data on the array shouldn't be changing at all. Don't want to set up this array and find out all my data has been wiped.
EDIT: I just plugged in the drives, intel raid manager on windows detected it right away and seems to be all working! Performing a parity check just in case.
