So my motherboard includes 4 USB 3.0 ports however, after checking the device manager there is nothing that is listed as being Intel or Renesas USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller.

I specifically need an eXtensible host controller in order to successfully run a specific USB 3.0 video capture device that i own - and was wondering if these devices will do the trick. I have one PCIe 1x device and one PCIe 2.0 slots available on the mobo.

List of items

Individual item #1
Item #2
Item #3

The product description for most of them lists as "- USB 3.0 complies with Intel eXtensible Host Controller Interface (xHCI)"
Does this mean they are capable of accepting eXtensible Host Controllers?

Also, from what you guys have noticed and from what i am assuming, they are only compliant with PCIe 2.0 slots, and not the other individual PCIe 1x slot, yes?

1. have you tested your current usb 3 ports? I'd bet they will work.
2. PCI-E is fully forwards and backwards compatible, so no issues there.
3. What model is your motherboard?

Thanks for the reply lilfiend, and yes i have, they do not work. My Ultrabook actually has an eXtensible controller in device manager, and simply testing it on that (cannot be used for my purpose, it is too underpowered) offered the video to output correctly.

I am using a shuttle SH67H3 - everything you need to know about it is right here

And here is a pic of the USB controllers in the device manager of the shuttle,
