Hi,

I'm putting together a new build with a Supermicro X8DTH-6F board-- onboard is an LSI SAS 2008 6gbps...

If I get an Intel 510 250GB or OCZ Vertex 3 (will the SAS->SATA encapsulation) work at 6gbps?

Has anyone benchmarked SSD's on this type of controller?

I should get whatever the SSD can run at, correct?
e.g. in comparison with a Sandy Bridge motherboard with native 6gbps SATA

It SHOULD work at full speed in that configuration, but I have never seen a benchmark with that exact configuration. I have seen benchmarks of SSDs on the LSI 9211-8i HBA, and they look good.
