Does anyone around here have good knowledge of Supermicro 2u servers? My virtualization host is showing a higher temperature on cpu2, and I feel like its because warm air from cpu1 is flowing into it, but I want to see if I am right and also what I can do about it

CSE-826TS-R920LPBP-1 CPU was sitting in the 60's. I know thats not bad just bothers me because the other one is like 20 degrees cooler

Actually looking at that server cpu2 should still be getting plenty of cool airflow. Id expect around a 5 degree differance between the two. I would recommend giving both chips a fresh coat of thermal paste ensuring the heatsinks are seated properly in the process.

With that said a xeon can marinate at 60 for a decade so I wouldn't be too concerned
