I'm planning on buying a new psu soon as I intend to upgrade to the R600 or 8900 series gpu's. My current OCZ modstream is pulling strong with my current rig *see sig* but gets kind of hot and 12volt rail drops quite low to 11.46ish during gaming.
Since the psu is arguably the most important part of any PC, I'm looking for quality above all else but would like to throw in some longevity towards future upgrades as well. I'm loving the specs and reviews of the corsair hx620 and know that this would power most systems, even super high end w/ ease, but there are a lot of other psu's out there with more watts and good/great quality around the same price point. (ie: Silverstone Strider 750W) SLI or crossfire may be a future option. Modular cables are a must as I've become quite fond of them. I'm looking to spend approx. $200 canadian (or around $160 american) I guess I'm looking for a push in the right direction here. User experiences with their products and opinions greatly welcome. Thanx

You can't go wrong with the HX I have one.
Also look at PC Power & Cooling, but I think they may be lacking on Modular choices.

I suggest, if you're considering an R600 (crossfire) setup, spend a little more on the PSU. That Strider PSU you mentioned really isn't anything to write home about; Silverstone's equivilent in the Zues range, however, is a good PSU. Are you looking for a PSU with a multi +12v rail design or a single +12v rail? One more thing, filtering out all of the non-moduler PSUs, you're not going to have a whole lot to chose from; it might just be worth reconsidering, that's all.
