i need a replacement for aopen hq45.. its like an old oven, psu is only 250w. heavy case, no case fans, no air-flow.
i want something light, so im thinkin of gettin super lanboy. i think the front led fan n 350w blue psu n see through side panel look good. and i dont mind door at front or storage compactment.
anyone had any problems with super lanboy?
are the fans noisy? any of them? (i.e. front 12cm, back 12cm or fan on psu)
if they are not noisy, does the case still have good air-flow?

Excellent case. Very quiet, great airflow, very light and easy to work with. I recommend a quiet PSU to continue the theme, something in the 25 - 28 dB range (or less, if possible).

I just bought one to replace my PC70 lian li. I Love it for some reason, and dont like others.

Pros:
Great inside design (everything organizes nicely)
light weight (I was looking for this)
120mm intake and exhaust (needs better fans)
Great Inside! (did I already say that)
Removable HDDs (individual, witch is nice because i pull out my HDDs more that CDs anyway)
Little Built in case for screws (kewl, kinda)
Uses standard tread size, unlike Lian-li (so you can buy the chepo thumb screws.)
Thin plaiting is good for cutting :)
Comes with a nice Case strap, (iv always wanted on)
hdds are mounted to tray via a rubber grommet system, makes them quite (great feature)
A bit wider than most cases...

Cons:
No removable Mobo tray....
Stock case fans wile quite, barely move and air to the touch. (i replace mine)
only 3 5 1/2" bays (not a big deal for me)
Stock its a total PRE MOD (Ill be ashamed of min until I mod the hell out of it)
Windows it cheap thin plastic (ill be replacing me)
Front is Ugly as hell IMO (replacing entire front)
Purple fan grill (remove it and put a wire grill on the 120 (look pretty scwet, for stock)

Other than the fact that it look very premmod gayness, its a great case, working with it has been a pleasure thus far...ill be happier with it once im don’t making the new brezal and replace the side panels

The Air flow is great.....But with the stock fans, it still is good, its about as good as it get for a damm near siletn case...Once replaces with better fans (no silent anymore) aire really moves thru there... And there is NO PSU, no PSU noise really depend on what PSU you have.

BTW: if anyone with this case is interested in trading me my Door panel with the window with there left panel (no window) ill do it and pay shipping. This will give my trader 2 window panels, and me 2 blank sold panels. I don’t like the panel but someone else might like to have one on each side. And yes then line up. and fit on either side... i think..i let me go look..

I bought a SuperLANboy a while back and I could not be happier.

The free carrying strap rocks.

That little drawer thingie is pretty sweet too! At LAN parties I put my watch and monies in that drawer. On some occations I've fit spare PSU and network cables in there as well.

The fans are more then adequate for keeping case temps down.
I did notice when I turned off the Fan management in my BIOS, the fans moved much faster to around 2600RPM.

The only gripe is that the case can get a little tight towards the top.

Other then that, it's worth the monies.

i heard the lanboy was a decent case but the grill is actually plastic and dosent look that nice....but if you leik it go with it........almost bought one for my mom.

it is, that why i removed it compleatly and just put a standard fan grill on the 120 up fromnt...But today i bought the materal for a whole new front bezal

BTW: Id say a 350watt is not enought thease days, id say a good 400 watt is base line....I Sugest looking into a good 450+ watt PSU.... Antes are really good i love mine.

i remember ppl givin shxx to the front grill when it first came out, there was a long thread here sayin how ugly it looks. personally i dont think it looks ok so ill prob keep it..

i think 350w psu should be plenty since its been runnin stable oced with 250w psu. but i just want the psu with blue fan to go with front case fan n 3d cooler pro.

are there much diff btw antec smartpower n truepower psu?

I belive the True Power his higher Amps......

Sure you 250 is running good now, (untill it crashes) but what about in the future? If yo go A64 you will need alot of amps to power that bad boy.A 350 watt is not a good soultion to power a A64 and a 6800GT...im seriosly suprised you running a 6800gt and a 2500+ on a 250 watt..I cant remember, but dosnt a a64 need 18amp on the 12v alone...?

Why not spend the extra cash and get a good 450watt now and not worry about it when you upgrade.... Or you can go cheap now, and upgrade you PSU next time you upgrade you Mobo and chip, or stay on the 2500+ forever... witch alot of people will do.

BTW: Antec makes great PSUs.. I use them, but there are other brands that make great PSUs too, and there not as expensive..like forton, Here is a good forton for only 60 bucks And i think newegg prices jack us on thease, i think the can be found cheaper eles where.

Those who have Good PSUs understand what a diffrence it makes.

Remember people, watts dont mean everything. I got the impression from some people.

Its 12A I believe

i like my super lanboy, i also removed that front grill thing in favor of a standard fan grill. i also cut a hole in the window with a dremel and put in a 120mm thunderblade fan (set to low speed). it really cools well now. the hard drive racks are awesome. great for cooling and vibration isolation.

I think the Super Lanboy is probably the BEST case ever. It's lightweight, quiet & looks very cool. Go to my soon to be webpage to see my case...

lol local store didnt have any in stock so got skyhawk jupiter case with quite 400w psu instead.. it was cheaper anyway.
http://www.skyhawkusa.com/jupiter_case.htm it rated ok accordin to the reviews, links on the bottom of the page.

just installed everything and everything is good so far, build quality isnt good as antec but its ok. i got extra blower for the case cos it seem to work well. only problem is i cant use the extra blower at the top cos it touchs the gigabyte 3d cooler pro hsf. the hsf has four pointy plastics stickin up on top of the fan (about 6-7mm tall) n one of them pushs the grill on the blower fan. :( it might fit without pushin the hsf if i cut bit off the grill on the blower or pointy plasctic on top of hsf but hassel.

anyway this case is much better than aopen, everythin runs much cooler now, i also prefer this case over my other antec case (its bit too big n heavy) but ill probably change it to super lanboy.

grr, thanks to gay blower had to go through big hassel.
moved gigabyte 3d cooler pro to antec case. and placed stock hsf back to skyhawk case, turned the fan around on hsf so it blows out straight through the blower but cpu temp wasnt any better. changed the fan back n turned the fan in the blower to suck in n its bit better now.

weird thing is my cpu temp is similar to wat i got from aopen case with same hsf. but this new case has 5 more fans than the aopen (oven) case. mobo temp dropped about 2c.

my temp were
1.xp3200@1.55v - 46c cpu, 31c mobo, aopen case (0 fan), stock amd hsf.
now
1.xp3200@1.55v - 46c cpu, 29c mobo, skyhawk case (5 fans), stock amd hsf.
2.xp3200@1.70v - 45c cpu, 30c mobo, antec case (3 fans), gigabyte 3d cooler pro@3000rpm.

anyway im gonna prob get coolermaster t88 hsf on skyhawk case, hopefully it cools than 3d cooler pro.
