SUN Looking Glass, useful or useless ? (3D desktop)

The upcoming SUN MicroSystems 3D desktop application/OS "Looking Glass" looks pretty cool, but is it actually something people would use ?
Guess it takes alot more work getting around doing stuff but it does look good.

Well, sounds like it's an application that will be integrated with Sun's Java Desktop operating system, and the OS didn't exactly get sparkling reviews, so I'm passing on this. Seems pretty gimmicky, and it doesn't even look that good.

Well the new windows (xp longhorn) is suposed to boast a full 3d interface.

Yes, they're using vectors and I think the 3D is more like MacOS X's kind of 3D (like 3-dimensional icons). The screens of Java's 3D Desktop look like ass though, like they're made in Swing.
