I need suggestions as to which cooler I should be getting for my soon-to-arrive i7 3770K that will most likely be sitting on an ASRock Z77 E6.

My options are kind of limited by what I have to spend, but I'm really not looking to spend more than $60-70.

  • Corsair H60 High Performance (Old Version)
  • Corsair H60 (New Version)
  • Corsair H80i
  • Noctua NH-D14
  • Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO
I'm open to other suggestions, but I'm really just looking to get something that installs easily, doesn't require too much maintenance (if any), and lets me OC this thing to 4.5GHz without issues.
 
I had heard the AIO coolers were not the greatest for Ivy bridge as their die is so much smaller so the coolers cannot really show thier grunt, DH14 or H80 would be what I would take, hyper 212 would not be quite enough if you plan on doing any overclocking, and for the price, the H60 you might as well choose a betetr then hyper 212 cooler such as Phanteks PH-TC12DX, Thermalright True Spirit 120M, or some various other ones, usually the $30 is good performance and $40 or above on avergae is great, $65-70+ exceptional.
 
I tried to find the answer through Google, but I guess I'll ask it here: does anyone have a Noctua NH-D14 in an Antec 900?

The dimensions on Newegg show the width being 140mm according to the standard LxWxH dimensional format, but in what orientation?

Just trying to make sure it will fit. Already did the case mod to remove the plastic fan holster on the mesh window, so space is now maximized in my case.

And as far as weight goes, it's 1240g compared to my current 920g cooler. Is this a potential hazard to my new motherboard?
 
thermalright silver arrow, as well as Phanteks PH‑TC14PE, or megahalems black, TRUE Spirit 140, TRUE 120 Rec C, Venom X, be quiet dark rock pro and dark rock advanced are all top notch.

Phanteks have good mounting, so does prolimatek(massive mounting power with the right sink) noctua is excellent enough. The phanteks is regarded as slightly better then DH14 and triple fan config apprently works wonders, the true spirit 120c/140 are also apprently as good as the D14 and not nearly as massive while saving $ if you get it from the right place.

apprently you have 167mm clearence if side fan is not there, the 212+ was 156mm tall and might be able to fit "just" with side fan there.

"Yeah, it should work just fine for you. I have an NH-D14 in my original Antec 900 and it fits just fine as long as I don't have the 140mm fan pushed out too far above the heatsinks."
