Hi all...I write from Italy so PLEASE consider OUR prices situation that is completely different from other markets...

Say I'm not in a budget but I think that when a card is old, no matter if it is Ultra, Non Ultra, XT or however you call..., the card is old...so I don't really see good reasons to spend 50 extra euros for an "industry overclocked" card...
consider also that I have a waterblock ready for the GPU so it will be possibly overclocked....

This is the market situation in Italy

9600XT ---> 190 Euro :rolleyes:
9800 ---> Not Available :(
9800Pro ---> 350 Euro :)
9800XT ---> 500 Euro :mad:

5950Ultra ---> 500 Euro
5900 ---> 430/450 Euro
5900XT ---> 240/260 Euro

I was trying to decide between the 9600XT (the 9600Pro is almost not available as the 9800 non pro) and the 9800Pro...one middle card this year to play 2004 games and a new middle card on 2005 to play future games OR the top card now and lets' see when I will have some extra bucks to put on a video card....
Than the 5900XT arrived in the european market and from the bench I saw, it sounds as a good deal for 100/120 euro less than the 9800Pro...

How should I spend my money ????

if possible, i'd reccomend you purchase the 9800 pro. it should last you a good long while.

Get the 9800 Pro. With the waterblock on the video card you should be able to overclock it to be almost as fast as a 9800 XT.
