Hey im looking for a new case: looking for sugestions

-Clean
-Black
-strong (I prefear steel like the antec cases)
-no windows
-good cooling for a quite soultion
-PSU? I dont mind if ones there but i dont need it.. but ill fin use for it...
-Mods? I dont really plan on do any... sorry..no time anymore, my last case i all torn apart with on bug half finished mod, and it not moveing anywhere twards done!
-Size? I prefear mid towers, I have 3 HDDs, 600watt PSU, 1 optical drive, one bay fan controller, floppy, cardreader.. ATX mobo, SLI video to go in it.

This is the case im looking at now, Here but Im open to sugestion if you have experence one before you liked..
 
I really love the cooling design of that P180, but its a tad too tall for me, and I want to mount my ressed handles to the top of the case and that top fan will get in the way. Its a bit more money that I really want to spend on a case. Im kinda over cases modding, and really dont want to spend more that I need to jsut for looks..

Still its a great looking box.
 
Cases I'd recomend would be the Lian-Li PC-6X, PC-7X (if you need more room), V1000, Antec P180, and the Cooler Master Praetorian. The Praetorian looks like a really nice case, I don't think you can go wrong with any of those choices...
 
I have owned 4 Lian-li cases. Loved them all, but after alot of R&R of parts, and carrying it to LANs this started bugging me. Like the Treads on all the screws striping out, and the cases scratch on any impact it seems. Plus im just board of the way they look...

I was kinda hopeing someone would know of some off the wall cas that all around is nice. But it seems they only cases that fit the bill are the standard issue cases we all know about
 
For a good, (and cheap) case I really don't see how you can beat the Antec SLK3000B. $52 @ the 'egg.

I've had the gunmetal-colored variant of this case for close to two years now, and I've been really happy with it. 120mm fans front and back, plenty of space to mount HDs, it's roomy, the back panel comes off for easy wiring, it's heavy steel, it has a door, which is great to help dull a noisy DVD-ROM, and did I mention it's $52.00?

At half the cost it beats that Antec Performance TX640B with a spiked bat - I don't see what's good about that case, at all. If you went with that, where were you going to put the 3 x HDDs? :confused:

I agree with you on your sentiments towards the P180 costing too much - If it was a $100 case I'd of bought one already but vs. the SLK3000-B, you're basically adding another 120mm on the top, some more 3.5 mounts, and a PSU in the bottom - and this justifies triple the price? I honestly doubt it's going to be noticably quieter than the 3000, despite the noise control improvements, with the right setup. Not bashing the 180, it looks great and I'd love to upgrade to one, but I'd feel slighted paying a huge premium for a couple advantages. Again, I think it'd be awesome at $100.

EDIT: Oh. yeah, re: Scratches - 'cause I hate 'em too - Mine has a sturdy finish. I don't own any black Antec cases so I don't know how it is in comparison, but the exterior of mine has held up really well.
 
yea I use that case for builds when I do them, you forgot to mention it comes with a quality 350watt PUS as well for 52 bux! (well I use the one withoug the door..)

I still like the look of the TX640B better, and 3x hdd go in the little spot for 3x HDDs.. lol...

but yea antec quality is top!

The case that TheAcorn, mentioned comes with a AntecTrue 350watt.

I have one in my work rig powering a 3.4Ghz P4, 1gb DDR, 4 HDDs, 2 opticals. and a 6800nu (shhh..) considering its only a 350watt, it works great and I have no problems at all
 
Nope, that case doesn't come with a PSU anymore. It DID come with the 350w - There's one right here - a long time ago, and I only paid $65 for it.

There's something in that price range on the 'Egg with a 350w somewhere, but I'm too lazy to look for it right now.

Also, the idea of you stuffing three hard drives one atop each other like that without any airflow across them sort of bugs me. I'd sure they'd be fine. But these days it's common sense to get some air across your HDDs, which the TX case will not do.
 
Antec Titan, it's a beast and it looks great. I'm migrating one of my pc's into one this weekend, can't wait to get it up and running. That being said, it's big and you might not want something that big. It does come with the True Power 550 powersupply.
 
Why not just get a chieftec?
I have never seen anything that you could work in easier.
