sudden slowdown in xp

yesterday, i noticed that my computer was running really slow. i had just ran mcaffe virus scan the day before, and removed a trojan virus that i had. ever since then it has been really slow. i ran mcaffe again and it came up clean. i ran adaware, spybot, and spysweeper, and deleted all of the spyware, but it is still slow. like when i open nero, if i move the window, it goes to program not responding. plus when i try to add songs to my burn list, it take twice to three times as long as it did before yesterday. windows media player and windvd do the same thing. does anyone know of a reason this might happen? any way to fix it? i would prefer to not have to reformat at this point, but if i have to i will. thanks for any help.

im guessign you have tried rebooting

maybe clean all of ur temporary files nd try things like that

Have you tried going back to an earlier restore point in System Restore?

yeah i tried rebooting several times waiting about a minute inbetween. i shut it down for about 2 hours, and when i started it back up, all was fine. so thanks for taking the time to help.
