Is it possible to put the forum's style info in a cascading style sheet? Not only would would it be faster for us to only download the info once and cache it, but [H] would save on its bandwidth bills by not include 5K of repetitive info in every single page served.

:)

I feel strangely proud to have asked a question that made it off the first page without a single response. :p

I guess I'll take that as a no. :)

I think it would be a good idea also, jsut a little bit of Template work I think with VBulletin.

As soon as you get the coding done and have the time to fully document the implementation forum wide, send it over.

The forums load hella quick for me with Firefox 1.0 and the speed tweaks on a 1.5 mbps cable modem. I have no problems. Though this probably would be a good idea.

I image full CSS is something vBulletin will eventually incorporate into a future release.

Well, it comes down to, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

The system currently in place works quite well. I'm on dialup with FireFox 1.0 and all the speed tweaks in place, and this site comes up in <5 seconds.

It aint broke, so don't fix it.

Yeah, I suppose. When I think of all the extra pr0n I could download with the freed-up bandwidth... <sigh>

For what it's worth, http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/ is a great resource (and they have their style info in an external .css). From this thread:
Q12. How can I store CSS as files?

A12. AdminCP > vBulletin Options > Style & Language Settings
Store CSS Stylesheets as Files?
Set to yes, make sure to chmod the clientscript/vbulletin_css folder to 777 before saving this option.

C'est la vie.
