If two monitors have the same panel, does that mean they have the same backlight mechanism? Or the backlight something that the monitor makers designs of its own?
I could be wrong but...my understanding is that the lcd panel and backlight are sourced out as a single unit and then the individual monitor makers add their own electronics/casing/stand. This would explain why monitors from different makers can sometimes suffer from a similar "X pattern" backlight bleed...however it seems that the design of the casing/construction methods can make a difference in the severity.
