Stupid question about PCI

I'm familiar with newer PCI Express cards and their corresponding slots. However, I've never had much experience with older card types.

I was hoping someone could confirm that the following card is compatible with the PCI slot in the following motherboard. Both their specs sheets seem to indicate so, but the physical appearance of the slot and the card's contacts makes me concerned.

Yes it will work. The only thing you have to look out for are cards that only have one notch (in the back) as those cards will require a 5v slot and some motherboards only have 3.3v slots. Any PCI card with 2 notches will work fine in a 3.3v slot (including 64-bit and PCI-X slots)

Slots can be keyed for either 3.3V or 5V, nearly all basic PCI slots are 5V but 66MHz slots and PCI-X slots are always 3.3V.

Cards can be keyed for either 5V only (common on older cards), 3.3V only (never actually seen this) or universal (common on current cards).

64-bit cards (including PCI-X) have an extra section at the back, you are supposed to be able to overhang this to use the card in a 32-bit slot but some motherboards may have obstructions which prevent this.

When dealing with 66MHz PCI slots and PCI-X slots be aware that the whole bus will slow down to the clockspeed of the slowest card you place on it.
