Right now, I'm in dire need of a power supply in the next 24 hours, and saw this one

Here

for sale. I read the stickys, and saw Antec was a good brand. Any comments on this?

Heh, sorry I wasnt more specific in my first post.

Asus p4g8x dexlue mobo
P4 2.4b with stock heatsink
radeon 9700pro vid card
Generic Brand 16x dvdROM
NotSoGeneric (forgot brand though) 16x DVD+-RW
120GB 7200rpm 8mb maxtor

Right now I've got a generic 400w power supply thats failing, and need one to replace.

These are the same PS, both having +12V@22A, far better than the +12V@16A on that Antec.
The newest revision of the Smartpower 350W outputs 21A on the +12V rail. 16A is the old revision.

and a head start

that supply would be a little tighter than Id recommend
given the wrong set of circumstances you could still have a problem
(load and high temperature) so its really a question of the thermal solution
it would power that rig in most senerios, but with an unknown derating curve for temperature...
given my history and position Im one of the more conservative folks youll come across

your typical load would certainly be met
but its the worse case senerio you should consider
(as your moderator goes to turn up the AC in the middle of winter :p )

Starting today, Fry's has a 300W SmartPower w/ SK1600 case for $14.99 after rebate, and this 300W is more powerful than most 350W models and is rated for 19A @ +12V.

Since last November, I haven't been able to find anything about the newer SmartPowers at Antec's website, so I think that the website simply hasn't been updated even though all the SmartPowers and probably all the SmartPowers have been.

I've got a antec tru380S for sale, 35 bucks plus shipping, its brand new, pulled it out of my antec case. Sounds like it will be perfect for what your looking for. email me fozard@cogeco.ca
